Styria-Artist-in-Residence (St.A.i.R.)
Für internationale Künstler*innen sowie Kunsttheoretiker*innen aller Sparten werden im Rahmen einer Ausschreibung, Stipendienplätze mit Wohn- und Arbeitsraum in Graz auf Vorschlag einer Expert*innenjury und nach Beschluss der Steiermärkischen Landesregierung vergeben.
Teilnahmeberechtigt sind Kunst-, Kulturschaffende und Kunsttheoretiker*innen aus dem europäischen und nichteuropäischen Raum, die die Auseinandersetzung mit dem Kunst- und Kulturschaffen in der Steiermark suchen. Ihnen werden monatlich 1.100 Euro für künstlerische Projekte und Begleichung des Lebensunterhalts angewiesen. Ein Wohnraum steht den Stipendiat*innen im barocken Ambiente des Priesterseminars in Graz zur Verfügung.
Die Betreuung und Vernetzung der Stipendiat*innen erfolgt durch Grazer Kulturinitiativen. Eine Werkpräsentation ist während des Aufenthaltes vorgesehen. Die Dauer des Aufenthaltes hängt vom Umfang des künstlerischen/kunsttheoretischen Vorhabens und von der Entscheidung der Jury ab.
The Styrian Government awards scholarships to international artists and art theorists from all genres. The scholarships are granted within the framework of a call for applications and include a place to work and live in Graz. In awarding these scholarships, the Styrian Government follows the recommendations of a jury of experts.
The calls are open for artists, people working in the cultural sector and art theorists from European and non-European countries who seek to exchange with the Styrian art and culture scene. The scholarship amounts to EUR 1,100 per month for art projects and living expenses. Recipients of the scholarship will have accommodation in the Baroque-style Graz Seminary.
Cultural initiatives will be hosts to the scholarship recipients during their stay in Graz, will support them and will involve them in networking activities. The scholarship also includes the presentation of the scholarship recipient's works. The length of stay depends on the scope of the art or art theory project and the decision of the jury.
