The Styrian Government is calling for applications for artist scholarships under the title "Kunstraum Steiermark". Applicants should preferably be under 35 years old. The scholarships are granted for the set-up and long-term establishment of workspaces and studios in Styria to facilitate the development of artistic projects and to make it easier for young artists to gain a foothold in the professional arts and culture scene.

Fifteen artists or artist collectives are granted a monthly allowance of EUR 600 for a period of two years (2023/2024).

Representatives of all disciplines of art and culture who would like to work in Styria and establish a studio here are eligible to apply. The scholarship, which covers the expenses of a suitable space for two years, wants to support artists, make production conditions easier for them and help them to reach professionalisation.

In awarding the scholarship, the Styrian Government follows the recommendations of a jury of experts.

The Styrian Government awards annual studio scholarships to promote international networks and experiences to up-and-coming artists and theorists. The scholarships are awarded within the framework of a call for applications and include a professional place to work and accommodation, expert supervision, and a monthly allowance between EUR 1,200 to a maximum of EUR 1,500 (depending to the destination). A maximum travel allowance of EUR 1,000 will also be covered.

The Styrian Government follows the recommendations of a jury of experts when awarding these scholarships.

These scholarships are provided for projects. They are not, however, awarded as a study-abroad allowance for students.

The Styrian Government awards scholarships to international artists and art theorists from all genres. The scholarships are granted within the framework of a call for applications and include a place to work and live in Graz. In awarding these scholarships, the Styrian Government follows the recommendations of a jury of experts.

The calls are open for artists, people working in the cultural sector and art theorists from European and non-European countries who seek to exchange with the Styrian art and culture scene. The scholarship amounts to EUR 1,100 per month for art projects and living expenses. Recipients of the scholarship will have accommodation in the Baroque-style Graz Seminary.

Cultural initiatives will be hosts to the scholarship recipients during their stay in Graz, will support them and will involve them in networking activities. The scholarship also includes the presentation of the scholarship recipient's works. The length of stay depends on the scope of the art or art theory project and the decision of the jury.

The Artist-in-Europe scholarship is awarded to Styrian or Styria-based artists and theorists for the promotion of long-lasting, international networks and experiences in the art scene of the "capital of Europe," Brussels, for a period of six months. The scholarship is part of the residency programme of the renowned  WIELS Art Centre.

In addition to participation in the residency programme at the WIELS Art Centre, the scholarship includes accommodation, a monthly bursary of EUR 1,500 plus an allowance to cover travel costs to and from Brussels up to a maximum of EUR 1,000.

The scholarship is awarded based on a recommendation made by a jury of experts and a representative of the WIELS Art Center.
